Folded Staircases
Folded staircases are somewhat similar in construction to our floating staircase designs. The primary difference is the addition of risers which are the same thickness as the staircase treads, and sit flush with the front and back of each tread, without any overhang. The visual effect created by the addition of the risers results in a 'zig-zag' effect where it looks like the steps have simply been folded into shape.
The advantages that the addition of the risers give to this style over a floating staircase mean that they are far more flexible when it comes to design, allowing for a larger range of possiblites in terms of support structure and balustrade choice.
The neat, geamoetric lines of folded staircases means that they are not just an interesting feature for you home. They are also practical, working brilliantly with a variety of under stairs storage solutions.
