Sitting snugly within a property with a plethora of unconventinally laid out walls, this stairs was designed primarily to make clever use of a rather awkward space. You would struggle to find many straight lines on this design. This twisting staircase hugs the curved rear wall tightly and then begins to turn back on itself to flow into the lower room. The treads are extended along the curvature of the wall and curl round into a small recess, turning what would have otherwise been a dead corner into useful storage space. At the bottom of the stairs, a large oval shaped bull-nose step improves ease of access whilst giving the staircase some extra unique charachter. Even the balustrade on the landing above was given additional detail to enhance the theme of curved and twisting shapes. Combination spindles in oak and stainless steel are arranged carefully to create a decorative 'wave' pattern.
